Sugar Hill Animal Hospital is a proud member of the Boy Scouts of America Explorer Program. This program allows high school students to learn important job skills that they will need to succeed in the veterinary field and beyond. While attending the program, our fun and friendly staff teaches them everything a technician is required to know and they have the opportunity to shadow our doctors to observe different illnesses and diagnoses.
When there is an emergency or a surgery, the Explorers are right there with us, learning how to react in each and every kind of situation. In this way we prepare student for their future in veterinary medicine. This also provides a quick way to decide if veterinary medicine is something they can truly see themselves doing as a lifelong career.
Because we are part of the Boy Scouts of America and an AAHA accredited practice, not only will each student receive volunteer credits, but this is a great addition to any college and/or scholarship applications.
Every year we provide scholarship programs that gives seniors a $1000 for their own personal use!
