24/7 Microchip Scanning Station

Found a Lost Pet? We Can Help!

Sugar Hill Animal Hospital is proud to offer a Universal Microchip Scanning Station, available to our community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Thanks to The Reunite Tonight Project, anyone who finds a lost dog or cat can use our scanner to check for a microchip, even when our hospital is closed.

How It Works

During Business Hours
Bring the found pet to our hospital and our team will be happy to assist you with scanning for a microchip and determining the next steps.

After Business Hours

Our outdoor Microchip Scanning Station remains available for you to use:

  1. Turn on the scanner using the power button.
  2. Slowly scan the pet over the shoulder blades and along the back, chest, sides and legs.
  3. If a microchip number is found, write down or take a photo of the number.
  4. Scan the QR code posted at the station.
  5. Enter the microchip number into the lookup tool to identify the appropriate microchip registry and receive instructions for contacting them.

Important

Our Microchip Scanning Station is not monitored and is not a pet drop-off location. Please do not leave found animals unattended at the hospital.

If you need assistance with a found pet after hours, please contact your local nonemergency police or animal services department.
